On the last day of our 12 Day Giving Campaign, we celebrate Friends of the Cleveland Kennel’s 15 Year Anniversary, and all that has been accomplished! This small but mighty non profit organization has saved hundreds and hundreds of lives, and has continued to push the limits in order to save even more lives.

The featured stories in this giving campaign give examples of the work this non profit does. We are so proud of the work we continue to do each year for Cleveland’s animals in need.

Just 10 years ago, we were driving pit bull mix puppies out of state, under the radar, in order to save their lives. Now, there is an entire pit bull adoption program staff run and facilitated by Cleveland Animal Care & Control, and funded by Friends of the Cleveland Kennel.

The Plankton Fund continues to save the lives of heartworm positive dogs from Cleveland Animal Care & Control, giving them a second chance at a great life. Several years ago, this was not their reality.

In 2010, Friends of the Cleveland Kennel funded and hosted its very first Canine Wellness Day event in the St Clair Superior neighborhood of Cleveland. This event provided free vaccines, exams, and flea treatment to low income Cleveland residents. Now, 8 years later we have created a sustainable and permanent program called Neighborhood Pets Outreach & Resource Center. Since opening in October 2016, we have helped over 1,000 clients and over 3,000 of their beloved pets stay happy, healthy, and in their homes.

Each year, we continue to provide life saving medical care, medical supplies, funding for the City Dogs Adoption and Volunteer programs, as well as the enrichment activities for the dogs while in the care of Cleveland Animal Care & Control.

The work we are doing here in Cleveland, in partnership with Cleveland Animal Care and Control is innovative and proactive. We are creating programs that are much needed, and developing more community partnerships to reach even more animals and humans in need.

Our organization has truly become a critical resource for saving and improving the lives of companion animals in Cleveland, Ohio. We are continuing to respond to existing needs, and learning of new needs every day, while growing our capacity in order to do so.
Friends of the Cleveland Kennel is almost entirely reliant upon donations from kind and compassionate individuals like you! This important work simply wouldn’t be possible without your generous support. Thank you so very much!
